Dear colleague,

I wanted to update you on our mutual patient.

They were seen today for their follow up eye examination.  Their diabetic retinopathy appears worse from their previous visit.  Fortunately, it currently does not require any intervention and I will watch them closely in the future.  I reiterated the importance of tight glucose control in preventing the worsening of their diabetic eye disease.  

We will see them back in 3-6 months for repeat dilated exam, sooner as needed.
