On exam, our patient was found to have visually significant cataracts that are affecting their activities of daily living.  After discussing with them the risks, benefits, and alternatives to cataract surgery, we decided together to proceed with surgery to improve their visual function.  I have scheduled them within the next 4-6 weeks.
