Ophthalmologist
Gintien Huang, M.D. was born and raised in Southern California. He is a board certified ophthalmologist who studied medicine at the St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri and went on to train at America's oldest specialty hospital, the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary where he served as chief resident. He further sub-specialized in medical and surgical glaucoma after completing a fellowship at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.
Optometrists
Sumin Mark Huang, O.D., Ph.D has proudly served the San Bernardino community for over 30 years. He is an optometrist who received his Ph.D in biochemistry at the University of Tennessee in Oakridge, Tennessee. He went on to study optometry at the New England School of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts.
Samantha Makpaiboonvatana, O.D. joined San Bernardino Eye Specialists on July of 2018. She completed her bachelors in chemistry with a minor in biology from the University of California, Irvine. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry (Marshall B. Ketchum University). She is a therapeutic and glaucoma certified optometrist. Her interests include ocular diseases and specialty contact lenses.
Office Managers
Tina Holmes is a native of the Inland Empire. She has been the office manager for San Bernardino Eye Specialists since 2013. She follows in the foot steps of her mother, Dolores Portias who was Dr. Mark Huang's office manager for over 30 years before retiring.
Wei-O Huang has been with the practice since its inception back in 1981. With the addition of Dr. Gintien Huang in 2015, Wei-O has expanded her responsibilities to cover the ophthalmology side of the practice in addition to the optometry side.
